Situation of the newly established enterprises of the country

- About the general situation:

In January 2017, the country added 8,990 newly established enterprises with registered capital of VND 90,283 billion, increased 8.1% in the number of enterprises and 52.3% in registered capital over the same period. (Comparison of 2016/2015: enterprises increased 21.2%, capital increased 87.01%).

The average registered capital per enterprise in January reached 10 billion, increased 40.9% over the same period. The registered labor force of the newly established enterprises in January was 104,062 employees, decreased 16.1% over the same period.

Total registered capital added to the economy in January 2017 was VND 204,919 billion, including: total registered capital of newly established enterprises was VND 90,283 billion and total added registered capital of operating enterprises was VND 114,636 billion.

Therefore, the situation of enterprise registration since Enterprise Law, Investment Law took effect (July 1, 2015) has made positive changes with the significant increase in the number of enterprises entering the market and capital, especially in January 2017 with the number of enterprises was 8,990 and the registered capital was VND 90,283 billion.

Regarding the ratio of average registered capital per enterprise, in January 2017 joint stock companies had the highest average registered capital of VND 31.7 billion per enterprise; Next is two-member limited liability companies which was 6.9 billion/enterprise; One member limited liability company was 5.3 billion dong per enterprise; Private enterprise was VND 1.4 billion per enterprise and the partnership was VND 1 billion per enterprise. Compared to the same period, the proportion of the average registered capital per enterprise of the private enterprises and partnerships decreased; meanwhile, the proportion of average registered capital per enterprise of the remaining types of enterprises increased.

Comparison of newly established enterprises registered in January 2017 by regions in Chart 2 shows that:

+ Regarding the situation of enterprises registering for establishment, some regions had the increased newly registered enterprises compared to the same period of 2016, including: the South East had 3,895 enterprises, increasing by 15.4%; The Red River Delta had 2,579 enterprises, an increase of 9.1% and the Mekong River Delta had 731 enterprises, increased by 4.3%; Conversely, the North and South Central Coast had 1,176 enterprises, a decrease of 7.1%; The Central Highlands had 250 enterprises, decreased by 1.2%; and the Northern Midlands and Mountains had 359 enterprises, decreased by 0.3%.

+ Regarding the registered capital of newly-established enterprises, most of the regions tended to increase over the same period last year, specifically: the Central Highlands had the highest registered capital of VND 3,339 billion with the growth rate of 96.6%; followed by the Northern Midlands and Mountains with the registered capital of VND 5,970 billion, increased by 77.2%; The Red River Delta had the registered capital of VND 26,995 billion, an increase of 74.4%; The South East had the registered capital of 41,187 billion, increased by 60.5% and the Mekong Delta had the registered capital of 5,465 billion, increasing 3.8%; Only the North and South Central Coast had the registered capital of 7,327 billion, decreased by 6.1%;

In terms of the number of increasing enterprises, the South East still had the largest number of enterprises with 3,895 enterprises, followed by the Red River Delta with 2,579 enterprises and the remaining regions. Therefore, the South East and the Red River Delta are still two of the leading economic sectors of the country as the total number of increasing enterprises in these two sectors accounts for 72% of the total number of established enterprises of the country.

In January 2017, the registered labor force of newly established enterprises by regions increased in some regions over the same period of 2016, namely: Northern Midlands and Mountains registered 8455 workers, an increase of 31.6%; The North and Central Coast registered 18,477 laborers, an increase of 8.0% and the Red River Delta registered 37,264 laborers, an increase of 7.1%. In contrast to the above regions, the remaining regions registered the number of workers decreased compared with the same period last year, respectively, the Mekong River Delta registered 11,452 workers, decreased 49.4%; The South East registered 26,558 laborers, decreased 35.6% and the Central Highlands registered 1,856 workers, decreased 0.5%.

- By business activity:

Comparison of newly established enterprises registered in January 2017 by sectors in Chart 4 shows that:

+ The percentage of newly established enterprises decreased in 02 sectors compared to the same period of 2016 which were: Other services registered 66 enterprises, decreased 18.5%, and Accommodation and catering services registered 453 enterprises, decreased 4.8%. The remaining sectors had the increasing number of newly established enterprises over the same period last year, which were: Real estate registered 312 enterprises, an increase of 75.3%; Health and social support activities registered 52 enterprises, increased by 57.6%; Science and technology; Consulting services, design; Advertising and other professionals registered 752 enterprises, an increase of 24.1%; Employment services; Tourism; Rental of machinery, equipment and other supporting services registered 452 enterprises, an increase of 14.7% ...

+ Regarding to the registered capital, statistics show that some sectors have decreased registered capital compared with the same period, including: other services registered 112 billion, decreased 77.6%; Transportation and warehousing registered 2,010 billion, decreased 39.3%; Electricity, water and gas distribution registered VND 1,986 billion, decreased 8.7% and Manufacturing and Processing registered VND 10,519 billion, decreased 2.4%. The remaining sectors have increasing registered capital over the same period in 2016, some sectors have high rate of increase, including: Arts and entertainment registered 1,510 billion, increased 658,0% ; Health and social supporting activities registered 1,508 billion, increased 455.5%; Mining registered 2.285 billion, increased 401.2%; Employment services; Tourism; Rental of machinery, equipment and other support services registered VND 5,230 billion, an increase of 249.6%;

In January 2017, a number of sectors attracted a large number of registered laborers, including 41,243 laborers in Manufacturing and Processing; Wholesale; Retail; Repairs of automobiles and motorbikes are 19,013 employees; Science and technology; Consulting services, Design; Advertising and other expertise are 12,842 employees; Construction is 9,578 employees; ...
