ENTERPRISE STATUS OF RETURNING TO OPERATION, SUSPENSION AND DISSOLUTION OF JANUARY 2017

1. The situation of enterprises returning to operation in January 2017

- About the general situation:

The number of enterprises returning to operation in January 2017 was 5,564, increasing 14.2% compared to the same period last year (compared to 2016/2015: enterprises returning to operation increased by 69.6%).

The comparison of the number of enterprises returning to operation of the first month of the year in the recent years in Chart 1 shows that over the years, the number of enterprises returning to operation is increasing and in January 2017, the number of enterprises returning to operation reached the highest.

- By territory:

According to the data in Table 01, the situation of enterprises returning to operation in January 2017 increased in some regions over the same period last year. Specifically, the South East has the highest number of enterprises returning to operation which was 2,102 enterprises, an increase of 28.4%; followed by the North and South Central Coast with 1,029 enterprises, an increase of 22.9%; The Midland and Northern mountainous was 318 enterprises, increased by 20.0% and the Red River Delta with 1,395 enterprises, increased by 13.0%; meanwhile, the Mekong Delta with 522 enterprises, decreased 25.3% and the Central Highlands was 198 enterprises, decreased 1.0%.

- By sector:

In January 2017, the number of enterprises returning to operation by sector & field of activity increased in some sectors over the same period in 2016, including: Real estate has 104 enterprises, Increased by 62.5%; Information and communication have 109 enterprises, increased by 28.2%; Warehouse transportation has 303 enterprises, increased by 27.3%; Other service activities have 87 enterprises, increased by 24.3%; Science and technology; Consulting services, design; Advertising and other professional has 274 enterprises, an increase of 21.8% ... In addition, the number of enterprises returning to operation decreased in four sectors which are health and social support activities havehas 13 enterprises, a decrease of 23.5%; Mining has 62 enterprises, decreasing 11.4%; Electricity, water and gas distribution has 27 enterprises, decreasing 10.0%, and lastly, Education has 74 enterprises, decreasing 2.6%.

2. The situation of enterprise suspension; unregistered suspension or waiting for dissolution in January 2017

- About the general situation:

+ Number of enterprises registered for suspension of the country is 6,822 enterprises, increased by 31.7% over the same period last year, this number of enterprises after the end of suspension will return to the situation.

+ The number of unregistered suspended enterprises or waiting for dissolution of the country is 6,467 enterprises, decreased by 11.1% over the same period last year.

In general, the status of unregistered enterprise suspension or waiting for dissolution has improved significantly over the same period of 2016, it can be seen that besides the efforts of the business community, the ministries and branches also the Government have come up with timely solutions to remove difficulties for businesses.

- By type of business:

+ Among the number of registered suspended enterprises, there are 2,653 one-member limited liability companies, accounting for 38.9%; 2,274 two-member limited liability companies accounted for 33.3%; 702 private enterprises accounting for 10.3%; There are 1,193 holding companies accounting for 17.5%.

+ Among unregistered suspended enterprises or waiting for dissolution, there are 2,853 one-member limited liability companies, accounting for 43.5%; 1,920 limited liability companies with 2 members accounted for 29.7%; 498 private enterprises accounted for 7.7% and 1,236 joint stock companies accounted for 19.1%.

- By capital size:

According to the data in Table 3, the number of unregistered suspended enterprises or waiting for dissolution are mainly enterprises with registered capital of less than VND10 billion, accounting for 92.0% of the total suspended enterprises. Compared to the same period of 2016, the number of suspended enterprises with the registered capital of less than 10 billion decreased by 11.2%.

- By territory:

According to the statistics in Table 4, in January 2017, the South East is the region with the highest number of unregistered suspended enterprises or waiting for dissolution, which were 3,007 enterprises, accounting for 46.5% of the total business suspension of the country and decreased 17.3% over the same period in 2016. In addition, the remaining regions have the reduced the number of enterprise suspension; only The Red River Delta increased compared to the same period.

 - By business activity:

According to the statistics in Table 5, it shows that most of the industries had the number of unregistered suspended enterprises or waiting for dissolution in January 2017 decreased compared to the same period last year, including: agriculture, forestry and fisheries had 91 enterprises, decreased 54.3%; Accommodation and catering services were 257 enterprises, decreased 38.4%; Mining had 40 enterprises, decreased 37.5%; Arts and entertainment had 112 businesses, decreased 35.6% ... In addition, only 02 industries with the number of unregistered suspended enterprises or waiting for dissolution increased respectively: wholesale; retail; Motor vehicles and motorbike repairs were 3,117 enterprises, increasing by 20.0% and health care and social support activities had 22 enterprises, increasing by 4.8%.

3. Status of enterprises completing dissolution procedures in January 2017

- About the general situation:

The number of enterprises completing dissolution procedures in January 2017 of the country was 1,583 enterprises, an increase of 18.3% over the same period last year (comparison 2016/2015: enterprise dissolution increased by 34.7%).

Chart 2 shows that the number of dissolved enterprises in the first month from 2012 to 2017 tends to increase, which suggests that the market is undergoing strong purification.

- By type of enterprises:

Among the total number of dissolved enterprises of the country in January 2017, there were 592 one-member limited liability companies accounted for 37.4%; 487 two-member limited liability companies accounted for 30.8%; 314 joint-stock companies accounted for 19.8% and 190 private enterprises accounted for 12.0%. Compared with the same period in 2016, the number of enterprises dissolved in January 2017 mainly rose in the number of one member and two member limited liability companies.

- By capital size:

According to the data in Table 6, the number of dissolved enterprises is mostly enterprises with the registered capital of under 10 billion VND, which were 1,460 enterprises, accounting for 92.2% of total dissolved enterprises of the country in January 2017 and increased by 16.3% over the same period in 2016 (in 2016 the rate was 93.8% with 1,255 enterprises).

According to data in Chart 03, the status of enterprises registered for dissolution in January 2017 decreased in some regions of the country over the same period of 2016, namely: Midland and Northern mountainous has 58 Business, decreased 25.6%; The South East has 422 enterprises, decreased 21.0%; The Red River Delta has 211 enterprises, decreased 9.4%; In contrast, the remaining regions with the sudden increase in dissolved enterprises were the Central Highlands with 232 enterprises, an increase of 415.6%; The Mekong Delta has 427 enterprises, an increase of 68.1% and the North Central and Central Coast has 233 enterprises, increased 20.1% over the same period last year.

By business activity, in January 2017, a number of business lines and areas where the situation of dissolved enterprises decreased compared to the same period last year, including: Health and social support activities had 5 enterprises, decreased by 54.5%; Science, technology; services, consultancy; advertising and other professionals had 57 enterprises, decreased 13.6%; Information and communication had 50 enterprises, decreased 5.7%; Agriculture, forestry and fisheries had 84 enterprises, decreased 4.5%; Education and training had 27 enterprises, decreased 3.6% and Accommodation and catering services had 84 enterprises, decreased 2.3%. The remaining sectors had the number of dissolved enterprises increasing over the same period of 2016; the distribution of electricity, water, gas has not changed compared to the same period of 2016.
